Keytar player, Rush Coil (yes, that is the name is Mega Man’s robotic dog), performs his rendition of the iconic theme music from Sonic’s first world, Green Hill Zone, and absolutely kills it.

Arguably the most recognizable tune from any sonic game, Rush Coil does the original complete justice while making it all his own at the same time. The flashing lights, the energy, and that Keytar are enough to bring a smile to any retro gamers’ face.

Video game music, especially from retro games, is becoming increasingly popular, and even game giants such as Nintendo have jumped on this bandwagon by giving fans entire albums of classic songs. Even world-renowned orchestras are touring around the world featuring the music from games such as The Legend of Zelda and the Final Fantasy series, and are selling out shows in the process.

What do you think? Is this another case of nostalgia goggles clouding older gamers views, or is video game music finally getting the recognition and respect it deserves? Let us know in the comments below and feel free to share your favorite renditions of some your favorite video game tunes.
